Jeannine Morris

Jeannine Morris, 94, of Akron passed away peacefully, March 15, 2024.

She was born on April 4, 1927, in Wheeling, West Virginia. She spent most of her life in Akron, Ohio where she attended St. Joseph grade school, St. Vincents High School and then graduated from St. Thomas School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. She worked at St. Thomas as a surgical nurse.

Jeannine was a devout Catholic and belonged to many charitable organizations (Christ Child and many more). She was married in the Akron blizzard on November 25, 1950, to Robert Morris her high school sweetheart. They had seven children together. Jeannine and Bob were inseparable, always holding hands (True Love).

They started their own company in 1957, First Flooring and Tile, and went on to build their forever home on Granger Lake, Bath Ohio. They loved entertaining and having parties. Jeannine loved her music and was an avid bridge player. The one constant was she loved her children. She will be remembered for her joyous and happy attitude and the kindness she showed people she met.

She spent the last twelve years of her life at St. Edward's independent living in Fairlawn. Thank you to the staff of St. Eds and hospice. A special thanks to the excellent care givers for taking wonderful care of our mom. They were guardian angels.

Preceded in death by her loving husband Robert Morris, her parents; (Sarah) Sally and Stephen Herring, sister and brother; Jackie Semonin, Terry Herring, children; Diane, Chris, Jeff and Keith Morris, grandchildren; Jack DeShon, Matthew and Michael Morris.

She was survived by her brother; Jay Herring (pam), daughters; Bobbi (Jim) Helus, Susie (John) DeShon, Mary (Dan) Klatt, grandchildren; C.R., Andrew, Patrick Morris, Nate Klatt, Katie Helus, Jacke, Joey and Justin DeShon, great great grandchildren; Joseph, A.J., Baby Beep and a host of other family and friends.

Friends may call at the Village of St. Edward at Fairlawn located at 3125 Smith Rd. Fairlawn, OH 44333 this Thursday, March 21, 2024 from 1-2pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Village of St. Edward.
