Jeanne S. Pinnick 82 of Akron passed away quietly in her home April 29 2007. Jeanne was born on June 25 1924 in Highland Park IL. She moved with her family to Madison WI where she attended college at the University of Wisconsin-Madison majoring in French and Hispanic Studies. After graduation in 1947 she returned to IL where she met her husband Harry Thomas Pinnick and they were married in September of 1949. They moved to Buffalo NY where Harry pursued his PhD. in Physics and all 3 of their children were born. After 3 years in CO Jeanne and Harry moved to Akron where Harry joined the physics faculty at the University of Akron. Jeanne was involved in all aspects of her community as a member of the University of Akron Faculty Women's Club the PTA's of her children's schools the Unitarian Universalist Church of Akron and the Tuesday Musical Club to name a few. In 1981 Jeanne and Harry opened the Portage House one of the first Bed and Breakfast inns in the area. Her involvement in the bed and breakfast and community waned in the last years of her life as Alzheimer's slowly took her away. Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband Harry; brothers Robert Leroy and Ellis Sheldon. She is survived by her children Cynthia (Peter) Banaszak of Racine WI David Pinnick of Northridge CA and Carol Pinnick of Akron; granddaughters Emily Banaszak and Juliana Pinnick and her mother Maria Womack; brothers Donald and Earl Sheldon. According to Jeanne's wishes cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be announced later.
