VIEW MEMORIAL PHOTO TRIBUTE The Lord welcomed Jeanne home on March 7 2008 with her loving family at her side. She was born on February 17 1920 in Akron to John and Elizabeth Whitman. Jeanne met Max at Kent State University and later married on May 17 1944 when Max was in the Army Air Force. Jeanne was a wonderful mother who nurtured her family until the very end. She enjoyed a very happy and wonderful 63 years of marriage. Jeanne was preceded in death by her brother Bob (Pat) Whitman and brother-in-law Jack Bishop. She is survived by 4 children Michael (Carol) of Canton Janet (Don) Lewis of Denver Patrick (Laura) of Vermont and Perry Johnson; six grand-children Michael Ryan Katie Elaine Bryn and Paul Skye; sisters Marie (Bo) Mooradian and Rosemary Bishop and many nieces and nephews. Jeanne had courage and spirituality. She had many friends who loved her and sought her counsel. For some time she felt the joy of Mass every day of the week. She was a member of a very active prayer group and a Bible study club. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday March 13 2008 at 10 AM at St. Sebastian Catholic Church 476 Mull Ave. Interment in Chestnut Hill Memorial Park the place where the ducks love the big pond. Friends may call at Hummel Funeral Home 500 E. Exchange St. on Wednesday from 4-7 PM where there will be a prayer service at 7 PM. Memorial donations may be made to Child & Adolescent Service Center c/o Finance Department 919 2nd Street N.E. Canton OH 44704.
