Jeanette Kathleen Nelsen (Beck) passed away peacefully at home on April 18, 2026, in Scottsdale, Arizona, at the age of 87.
She was born on August 1, 1938, in Uniontown, PA, to Bert and Cecelia Beck. Jeanette, and her brother Bert, were raised in a humble home. Though her early years were simple, they shaped her deep appreciation for family and the quiet strength she carried throughout her days.
Just before entering fifth grade, her family moved to Parma, OH, opening the door to new friendships and opportunities. At 14, she met Ron Nelsen, who was working the soda fountain at Standard Drug near her home. That chance meeting began a lifelong partnership and a loving marriage that spanned 68 years.
Jeanette was a devoted and compassionate mother to her children, Dave (Deb), Kim (Jeff), and found immense joy in being a grandmother to Jessica (Kevin), Rylee (Remy), Brennen, Brittany (Wyatt) and Jamie as well as to her two great-grandchildren Reece and Avery. She was a vibrant and joyful presence, known for her ever-present smile, warm spirit and generosity.
She found happiness in life's simple pleasures, which included shopping and cooking classes, where she formed genuine connections and knew many sales associates by name. Jeanette was also a proud member of the Huron Yacht Club, where she built lasting friendships and shared many cherished memories. For decades, she made a meaningful impact through her dedication and work at Nelsen Corporation.
Jeanette had a remarkable gift for making others feel seen and valued. Whether through a kind word, a listening ear, or her bright smile, she left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She had a special way of remembering birthdays, quietly making others feel loved and remembered. Those who knew her will remember not just what she did, but how she made them feel-cared for, comfortable, and at ease.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the caregivers, Cristy, Jenny, Beth, Thelma and Phil, who cared so gently for Jeanette and who continue to support Ron. Their compassion, kindness, and steady presence brought comfort to Jeanette and to all of us, and will never be forgotten.
