Jean Louise Reymann

September 4, 1946 — April 17, 2026

Jean L. Reymann, 79, of Akron, Ohio, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on April 17, 2026. Born on September 4, 1946, in Akron to Lewis P. and Helen C. Wagner, Jean lived a life filled with love, dedication, and service to her family and community.

A proud graduate of Garfield High School in 1964 and the University of Akron in 1967, Jean's early years were marked by hard work and determination. During high school and college, she worked at JC Penney Co., Polsky's, and Cowell & Hubbard's in the fine china and crystal departments. These formative experiences laid the foundation for her strong work ethic, attention to detail and lifelong hobby.

In 1977, alongside her husband David P. Reymann, Jean became the owner-operator of Akron Auto Rustproofing. Her career also included roles as a purchasing agent for Atlantic Foundry and positions at Acme-fondly referred to by Jean as "Clicks"-where she formed lifelong friendships. She later retired from Coca-Cola but found her greatest joy in retirement spending time with her beloved grandchildren.

Jean was deeply devoted to her family. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, David P. Reymann; her children David L. Reymann (Kelly) and Laura Anne Reymann; her cherished grandchildren Sarah Sample, Derek Reymann, Daniel Reymann, and Patrick Reymann. Her much-loved dogs Archie and Scott: who are still wondering where she is. Jean is also survived by her brothers Robert Wagner (Leann) and Edward Wagner (Marilyn), treasured cousin Joan Stanford as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; sisters- and brothers-in-law Phylis Bruno; Jerry & Juanita; Dick & Ann; Jean A. Reymann; Albert & Christine; Marty & Maureen.

Jean was predeceased by her parents Lewis P. Wagner and Helen C. Wagner; her brother Donald L. Wagner; sister-in-law Mary Ellen Reymann; and brothers-in-law John Thomas Reymann and Dennis L. Reymann.

Jean's life was enriched by meaningful relationships and treasured traditions. She delighted in watching her grandchildren grow into young adults-a privilege she held dear-and enjoyed weekly lunches with friends at the Hibernians Club. Many joyful gatherings took place around the family pool at the Reymann home, creating memories that will be cherished forever. Each fall brought an annual trip to Frankenmuth, Michigan with dear friends Debbie and Paddy-a tradition that highlighted Jean's love for connection and celebration.

Known for her selflessness and unwavering support of others, Jean was often described as "the glue" that held people together. She loved wholeheartedly, always putting others before herself and lending a hand wherever it was needed.

Throughout her lifetime, Jean was actively involved in numerous organizations that reflected her commitment to community service and leadership. Jean contributed to the Firestone Park Citizens Council, sat on the board of the Reymann Foundation, and acted as treasurer for the Zonta Club-a professional women's organization dedicated to empowering women through service.

Jean's legacy is one of love, kindness, dedication to family, friends, and service to others. Her memory will continue to inspire all who knew her.

May those who loved Jean find comfort in their memories of a life so beautifully lived.
