James Prentiss

James R. Prentiss 72 of Akron died November 27 2006. James was born on October 12 1934 in Copley OH. After Jim was Honorable discharged from the US Marine Corps he was a master mechanic working on heavy equipment and semi trucks for companies like Lockhart and Cummings Motors. Jim was a member of the Operating Engineers. One of Jim's proudest achievements was that he was alcohol free since 1998. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Burton and Rhea Prentiss; sisters Ruth Miller Anna Marteny and Mary Beres; brothers Robert Louis and John. Jim is survived by daughter Debra; son James; grandchildren; sisters Bessie Bradley Alice Landry and Susan Kaser; special niece Donna Miller. Jim will be sadly missed by family and friends. Jim's niece Donna and good friend Lucky would like to thank the doctors and nurses in the ICU at Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital for all the care they showed to Jim in his time of need. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday November 30 2006 11:30 AM at Hummel Funeral Home COPLEY 3475 Copley Rd. Interment in Copley Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hummel Funeral Home COPLEY on Thursday from 10-11:30 AM. Memorial donations may be made to American Diabetes Association or American Cancer Society.
