James Berg

James "Jim" Henry Berg, 93, of Copley, Ohio, passed away on March 3, 2024. Born on August 4, 1930, Jim was known for his love of family and friends, but most affectionately remembered as a wonderful husband and a crazy devoted "Grandpa, Papa" to his four grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, bowling (with a 300 game to his credit), eating Barberton Chicken, making homemade Hungarian sausage, hiking, traveling, baking and golfing. He was an active member of the church, stocking multiple food pantries on a weekly basis, and was employed as an accountant. He truly enjoyed numbers. He helped others with their taxes, had a unique and contagious laugh and excelled at jigsaw puzzles.

Jim is survived by his wife of 65 years, Betty Berg, children Debbie Baxter and Jim Berg (Jennifer), grandchildren David Baxter, Jacob (Kacie) Berg and great granddaughter Noelle, Caleb Berg, and Victoria Berg, brother Steve Berg, as well as many nieces, nephews, and a great-niece.

A celebration of life for Jim will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or SouthernCare Hospice Services.
