Helene Pomeraning

Helene Elise Pomeraning 73 of Akron passed away November 27 2010. Born on April 8 1937 in New York NY Helene moved to Akron's North Hill in 1947. A graduate of North High School and attended the University of Akron Helene worked as a medical transcriptionist at St. Thomas Hospital. In 1957 she married her husband Carl and moved to Cleveland. Returning to Akron in 1965 she became a homemaker for her family. Helene was an active volunteer with many charitable organizations. Helene was preceded in death by her husband Carl. She is survived by her children Keith (Cheryl) Pomeraning and Karen (John) Wilkerson and grandson Evan Pomeraning. Funeral Services will be held Thursday December 2 2010 at 11AM at Concordia Lutheran Church 724 Sumner St. Akron 44311. Interment in Northlawn Memorial with Pastor Robert Tauscher officiating. Friends may call at Hummel Funeral Home 500 E. Exchange St. on Wednesday from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Concordia Lutheran Church Organ Fund or Summit County Children Services Christmas Toy Fund.
