Gwendolyn Crow

Gwendolyn D. Crow age 86 passed away on February 5 2008. She was born on June 7 1921 and was a lifelong resident of Akron. Gwen graduated from Buchtel High School in 1939. Pursuing a love of dancing from early childhood she toured the country during World War II with a professional stage show dancing from coast to coast. In 1946 Gwen married her fiancé David O. Crow when he returned from the war. In addition to dancing Gwen loved gardening golfing playing bridge creating beautiful needlepoint and most of all vacationing with her family at the beach. She is survived by her loving husband David Crow of Akron; son Jeffrey (Terry) Crow of Cary NC; daughter Deborah (Paul) Anderson of Akron; grandchildren Jennifer and David Crow of Cary NC; Jason (Alison) Anderson of Avon Lake OH; Kevin (Melissa) Anderson of Maineville OH; Christopher (Jana) Anderson of Massillon OH; and great-grandchildren Lauren Anderson and Jacob Anderson. We wish to express a special thanks to the staff of Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service and to the staff at Rockynol for their loving care. Private inurnrment has taken place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. A memorial service will be held on Saturday February 9 at 11 AM at the First Congregational Church of Akron 292 E. Market Street with the Rev. Dr. Jay Marshall Groat and Rev. Duane Angel officiating.
