Frederick Frances Fletcher

November 15, 1937 — April 9, 2026

Frederick F. "Freddie" Fletcher, age 88, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 9, 2026, in Akron, Ohio. Freddie was a lifelong resident of Akron and attended St. Vincent's Grade School and High School, graduating in 1956. Freddie was a "Westside Boy" and maintained lifelong friends from the same neighborhood where many shenanigans were participated in, although innocent compared to life today. Later in life he and two other lifelong friends were compared to "The Little Rascals" when growing up. Once a year all the Westside Boys would meet at Dusty's Landing to commiserate on life and have a few beers. Freddie married one of the neighborhood girls, and high school sweetheart, Dolly (Emma) Fletcher and together they raised two loving daughters on Conger Ave. in Highland Square.

Freddie was lucky enough as a young man to work along side his father and brother, Chick, as a surveyor and eventually made that his life's work. He retired after 47 vears of service from URS.

In his free time you would find him on the golf course, generally Good Park, where he worked as a ranger and his grandsons participated in the three day Junior tournament. When he wasn't golfing you would find him playing Euchre with his golf buddies.

After 47 years of marriage Dolly passed away from a long battle with cancer. Freddie was fortunate to find love twice in his lifetime. He was introduced to Sally Andrews at a mutual friend's annual Christmas party. Prior to the two of them being married, Sally needed to be approved of by Dolly's best friend. She luckily passed the test and the two married in 2009 and remained in Akron. They enjoyed traveling to the beach and visiting friends in Fountain Hills, AZ with whom they traveled to Mexico to vacation and fish on The Sea of Cortez. Sally cared for Freddie throughout his life until his death.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sally Fletcher, daughters; Robin (Kyle) Migdal and Pamela (Todd) Lawyer, grandchildren Joe (Abbey) Migdal, Sam (Annie) Migdal, Graham (Tayler) Lawyer and Maddison Lawyer. Great grandchildren; Palmer Migdal and George Migdal.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Justin T. Rogers Hospice Care Center, 3358 Ridgewood Rd. Akron, OH 44333. A special thank you to the angels on earth that cared for Freddie in his final days.
