Frank Lyman Parker 'The Mayor' 82 of Copley passed away peacefully surrounded by his family December 10 2008. He was born on October 11 1926 to the late Grove and Ethel Parker in Charleston OH. He and his father farmed their Copley farm until 1954. Frank then worked and retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. with 24 yrs. service as plant manager and Cuyahoga Wire and Steel with 10 yrs. service as plant manager. He loved and played sports (in school and later on) especially basketball baseball and football playing euchre with his Copley and VFW buddies farming and spending time in 'his office'. Frank was a WWII veteran and a lifetime member of the VFW Post #4466 and the Copley American Legion. He will be remembered for being a loving and caring man that took joy in caring for others before himself. Preceded in death by his wife Priscilla 'Pat' (Ortolano) Parker. He leaves behind his daughter Lynn; sons Ed (Sondra) Randy and Jon (Pamela); grandchildren Brian Jennifer Pietro Morgan Adrianne and Brandon; sister Mary Rubeis; very special friend Jackie Verdon; nephew Michael Rubeis; niece Marla Martini; and many family friends and buddies. Funeral Services will be held 12 noon Saturday December 13 2008 at Hummel Funeral Home COPLEY 3475 Copley Rd 44321. Interment in Copley Township Cemetery with Pastor Max McKanna officiating. Military honors will be performed by the Copley VFW Post #7971 and Copley American Legion Post #473. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 AM until the service.
