Francis Maurer

Francis J. Maurer 85 of Tallmadge passed away September 10 2007. A B-17 Navigator during World War II Fran was an active member of Our Lady of Victory Parish for 55 years. Fran was preceded in death by his wife Rita (nee Cully) and son-in-law Randy Tripp. He is survived by daughters Kathy (John) White of Hartville Mary Tripp of Cuyahoga Falls and son Jeff (Margaret) of Suffield Twp. A chemist with General Tire Fran was an avid golfer bowler fisherman bridge player and gardener. Known as 'Pa' he was a loving grandfather to Matt Kara and Jenna White. Fran lived life to the fullest enjoying his family friends and loyal canine companion 'Chipper.' We love you miss you and will never forget you. Friends may call Sunday September 16 at Hummel Funeral Home Akron 500 E. Exchange St. from 5 to 8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 am Monday September 17 at Our Lady of Victory Parish 73 N. Avenue Tallmadge OH 44278. Interment will follow at Western Reserve National Cemetery Rittman. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Our Lady of Victory or the Palliative Care unit at Akron City Hospital.
