Born on March 7, 1946 and raised in Canton, Eugene graduated from Canton Central Catholic High School in 1964. He also attended Hillsdale College, Hillsdale Michigan and Walsh University, North Canton. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve, dedicating himself to both his country and his family. In 1968, Eugene married his grade school sweetheart, Ann, they have been together since the sixth grade.

Over the years, he worked at many different companies, including: Monroe Adding Machines and Calculators, Scandinavian Health Spa, Bally Fitness, Reebok, and Lifetime Fitness. He built a career defined by dedication, leadership, and an unwavering work ethic. Throughout his life, he worked in sales, operations, management, and customer service, earning the respect of coworkers and customers alike. Known to many as "Clean Gene" he took pride in everything he did and believed in doing every job the right way. Even after retiring multiple times, he never truly slowed down, always finding purpose in staying active and continuing to work. His determination, reliability, and example of hard work left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Later in life, a new career opportunity presented itself and he bought CRW and Pet Care Crematory. Eugene dedicated many years to the cremation profession, where his compassion, professionalism, and care for families made a lasting impact on those he served. He enjoyed working along side his son, Vince, who eventually took over the business.

His family was the center of his life, and nothing brought him more joy than time spent with those he loved most. He loved boating and being around the water, where many treasured memories were made with family and friends. His grandchildren were truly his world, and he was their biggest fan as he faithfully attended their school events, concerts, games and activities with pride and enthusiasm. Whether cheering from the stands or simply spending time together, he made each of them feel deeply loved and supported.

He will be remembered as a devout Catholic whose faith guided the way he lived each day. A faith filled family man who led with love, kindness, and quiet strength. He always put others before himself and made everyone around him feel cared for and valued. He was generous with his time, thoughtful in his words, and compassionate in the way he lived his life. His steady presence, caring heart, and unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
