Elsie Hampton

Elsie S. Hampton 92 of Akron passed away January 28 2008 at Rockynol Retirement Community. She was born in Crosby MN and lived in Akron for 39 yrs. Elsie spent the last 8 yrs. at her lake cottage in Coldwater MI. She graduated with a BA in English and French from the University of Minnesota and an MS in school psychology from Kent State. She went on to teach high school English and French in Minnesota. Elsie was an advisor at Western College for Women now part of Miami University. She and her husband Peter established Hampton Psychological Services. Elsie enjoyed teaching continuing education classes at The University of Akron. Elsie was preceded in death by her husband of 37 yrs. Dr. Peter J. Hampton. She is survived by her children Dr. Peter T. (Cheryl) Hampton of Panama City FL Bruce (Linda) Hampton of San Diego CA Lisa (Ron) Somogye of Green OH and Todd Hampton of Cuyahoga Falls OH; grandsons Ryan (Shannon) Aaron and Matt Somogye; granddaughters Lisa and Lindsey Hampton; and dear friend Mary Fischer. Cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will be at Rose Hill Burial Park. Per Elsie's wishes in lieu of flowers or donations take a moment to appreciate a beautiful sunset the quiet of the woods or the wonder in a young child's eyes. Elsie will be remembered for her unconditional love and dedication to her family and caring guidance to her many clients.
