Elizabeth (Betty) J. Schorr (Kraker) met her Heavenly Father on April 20, 2022 at the age of 86. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend.
Born to Elizabeth Dettling and Joseph Kraker on July 13, 1935, Betty was a life resident of Akron, Ohio. Betty attended St Sebastian and St Vincent School where she made life-long friends and met her husband, Donald.
Betty was truly the definition of selfless. She always lent an ear when someone was in need and had the rare quality of feeling everyone’s joys, sorrows, and excitement through just a story or rendition. That paired with her quirky sense of humor made for never a dull moment or conversation.
In her earlier years, she enjoyed traveling to Niagara Falls and Chicago with her husband. She especially enjoyed the trips to Niagara Falls and Cedar Point with her children. She loved baking for every holiday and birthday. If she was home and not spending time with her children or grandchildren, she’d be outside soaking up the sun, and tending fervently to her yard.
Above all, Betty was passionate about her family. Throughout her years she was dedicated to giving them constant love and support, leaving them with a smile.
She was met in heaven by her beloved husband Donald Schorr, her daughter Theresa Stanley, brother Fr John Kraker and both her parents. She is survived by her sons Joseph (Laura), John (Anne), Jerry (Jai) and daughters Chrissy and Amy; son-in-law Herman; her siblings Fr Joseph Kraker, Jerry Kraker (Ann), Mary Stief (Bill); 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren and nephews who she loved dearly.
Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 11AM at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Friends may call on Friday from 5-7PM at Hummel Funeral Home, 3475 Copley Rd. COPLEY. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to St Jude’s Children Hospital.
