Edwin Glinsky

Edwin Wendell Glinsky, 90, of Uniontown, died August 15, 2025 in Green of vascular disease. He was born September 12, 1934 in Akron, Ohio, the second of six children to Mary Catherine (Krochmal) Glinsky and Stephen Paul Glinsky, Sr. He is preceded in death by his parents and eldest brother Paul.

Ed graduated from Springfield High School, Akron, Ohio (Class of 1953). Drafted into the Army in 1956, he served as a radioman and was stationed in Germany for two years during peacetime. Ed also spent four years in the Reserves and worked for and retired from East Ohio Gas Co. after leaving the military. He was a longtime member of Nativity of the Lord Catholic Church.

In the military, Ed gained a deep appreciation for other cultures and became an avid photographer. After returning to Akron, he enjoyed hiking in the Metropolitan Parks, earning badges for walking all the trails. Throughout his life, he also loved gardening and working on cars. A true lover of animals, in his later years, Ed devoted himself to caring for a multitude of stray and abandoned cats.

He is survived by his son Michael, daughter-in-law Barbara, daughter Catherine, granddaughters Alexandria and Michaela, brothers Gerald, Raymond, and Patrick, sister Mary Jane, and sister-in-law Anne.

A private service will be held.
