Edward Shuber

Edward Paul Shuber 86 passed away unexpectedly Friday October 11 2013. Edward was a lifelong resident of Akron. He was quite an entrepreneur and made hundreds of friends throughout the city. He helped many people but always on the QT. He always had a great passion for all types of sports. Ed's wit was a large part of his charm. Edwards's passion and love for the church was overwhelming. He attended mass daily at St. Vincent or St. Sebastian Catholic Church and was a member of St. Hilary's Tuesday Night Prayer Group. If you've ever met him you'd never forget him Edward was preceded in death by daughter Susan; parents Frank and Mary; step-mother Helen; brothers Terry and Robert. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Charlotte; sons David (Kay) Daniel (Judy); grandchildren Stephanie Joseph (Melanie) Charlotte (Krista) Frank (Alyssa) Holly (Nick); great grandchildren Jackson Dalton and Iris Alsip Kaitlyn and Corrigan Shuber Christian Elekes and Kailyn Gressman; brother Tom (Gerry) Shuber brother-in-law Jim (Barb) Semester; sister Gerry (David deceased) Hiss ; sisters-in-law Peggy Delores (David) Maryann Culver Nancy Semester and numerous nieces and nephews.. We loved him needed him and will miss him. St. Peter open wide your Pearly Gates Soup's Coming Home. The family will receive friends Tuesday 3-8 pm at the Hummel Funeral Home 500 E. Exchange St. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday 10:00 am at St. Vincent Catholic Church where the family will receive friends one hour prior to Mass. Interment Rose Hill Burial Park.
