Edward L. "Larry" Reed

Edward L. "Larry" Reed, age 87, passed away on February 1, 2023. He was born in Akron, Ohio to Roland J. and Ruth M. Reed.

Larry is survived by his loving wife, Sally Foust Reed; children, J.L. Whitey (Jennifer) Reed, Sandy (Mike) Soful, Sharon (Jeff) Newhouse, Kathy Laughlin, Kim (Steve) Kailey, granddaughter, Elizabeth Kailey, David (Ron Honeywell) Foust, and Lyndi Reed; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.

Along with his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his son, James F. "Rip" Reed.

Larry was a lifetime resident of Akron, the founder and owner of Summit Plumbing and Heating for 42 years. He was a volunteer and Construction Manager of Habitat for Humanity of Summit County for 16 years.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 2 to 4 pm on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Hummel Funeral Home, 500 E. Exchange Street, Akron. A memorial service will begin at 4:00 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home, with a Masonic Service by the Star Lodge #187 in Cuyahoga Falls.
