Edward Bucksar

August 13, 1929 — July 8, 2014

Edward E. Bucksar, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 8, at Maplewood Care Center in Streetsboro after a long battle with Alzheimers. A resident of Copley most of his life, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and retired from Alside Inc. after 35 years of service. Born in Niles, Ohio on August 13, 1929 to Stephen and Barbara (Toth) Bucksar. He moved with his family to Akron. Twenty-two years later he met the love of his life Nancy Ann (Miller) whom he married in July 1955. Edward and Nancy moved to Copley, where they raised their family of 5. A few years later they were blessed with 14 grandchildren and at the time of his passing 17 great grandchildren, Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Steve (Deen) Bucksar, Robert (Mary Ann) Bucksar, John (Dian) Geiger and Walt (Judy) Geiger; sister, Barb (Bob) Hooper and grandson, Nathaniel T. Richmond; he is survived by his wife, Nancy; children, Edward J. (Cheryrl), Ellen (Gary) Brown, Tim (Sue), Bernadette (Marty) Paridon and Jim (Chris) Bucksar; grandchildren, Christy (Phil), Eddy, David (Emily), Doug (Amanda), William, Brian, Stacie (Dave), Kevin (Kaytlyn), Anthony, Rebecca, Erica, Cory and Kaitlyn; great grandchildren, Ian, Malley, Cassidy, Olivia, David, Emily, Meghan, Geoffrey, Gianna, Brooklyn, Ryan, Brianna, Valerie, Nathaniel B., Hailey, Isaac and Bentley and many nieces and nephews. Ed was a grandpa to all, always lending a helping hand to anyone in need. The family would like to thank the staff of Maplewood Care Center and Hospice Service at Robinson Memorial Hospital for their love and support during this difficult time. To the end Dad made sure that he 'Did it His Way!' Calling hours will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, July 11, 2014 at the Hummel Funeral Home, 3574 Copley Rd. Copley, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 204 6th St. NW Barberton, Ohio. Burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to St. Augustine Catholic Church Endowment Fund.
