Dolores "Dolly" Emerson-Bean, 91, of Barberton, Ohio, passed into the loving arms of her heavenly father April 19th, 2026, after a lengthy illness, and welcomed by the words, "Well done, my good and faithful servant."
Dolly was born to Henry and Margaret Koerber, in Akron, Ohio. She was the wife of Roy Emerson (divorced) and later married Jerome Bean of Elk Grove, CA.
Dolly graduated from Saint Mary's Catholic High School, Akron Ohio, followed by secretarial training and work at Firestone Tires. She was an avid singer and artist, excelling in drawing, painting and sculpting, but Dolly' great joy was in being a wife, homemaker and mother. She also loved to visit antique shops and thrift stores, proudly displaying many treasures in her home. Dolly never turned away a hot cup of coffee, a piece of French Silk pie, or a hug. She lit up the room wherever she went with warmth, kindness, and compassion, truly blessing all that she met.
A lifelong Catholic, Dolly attended Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Tallmadge, Ohio for many years and was an active member of Music Ministry. After reuniting with her high school sweetheart, Jerome Bean, Dolly remarried and spent many happy years enjoying family and friends in Elk Grove, CA. She returned to Ohio after Jerome's passing, where she was well taken care of by Francesca House in Akron, and Pleasant Point Assisted Living in Barberton. Dolly's journey came to an end while in long term care at Pleasant View Skilled Nursing in Barberton. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all that cared for and loved Dolly, devout child of God during her very long life.
Dolly is survived by her children, Paul, Nancy, Julie, and Susan, stepchildren (and families of) Christopher, Patrick, Therese, Barbara, Kayte, along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Dolly leaves behind many people who loved her, who take comfort in knowing she is dancing in heaven with those she so longed to see. Her bright light in this world and her healing presence will never be forgotten.
Dolly was preceded in death by her parents Margaret and Henry Koerber, husband Jerome Bean, brothers Richard, James, John, Henry, sister Rosemary Traub, nephews Robert and Steven, and grandson C.J.
