Deacon Dennis Joseph Jebber, 80, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, after a courageous battle with leukemia.
Born on September 20, 1945, Dennis lived a life defined by faith, family, service and love. He was a devoted Deacon at St. Joseph's Melkite Church in Akron for over 20 years, where he faithfully served his church community and shared his deep compassion for others. He was also a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps and later retired from UPS after many years of hard work and dedication.
Dennis was the kind of man who loved being around people. He cherished his weekly breakfasts with his cousins and longtime friends, always enjoying the conversation, laughter and connection those gatherings brought. He loved the Jeep life, working outside, staying active, watching basketball and spending time in the Florida sun visiting family. He carried great pride in his Lebanese heritage, but more than anything, he took the most pride in the people he loved.
To know Dennis was to know someone who was always ready to help. He had a generous heart, a strong spirit and a steady presence that made people feel cared for. He loved his family deeply, and that love showed in the way he lived every day.
He is survived by his son, Patrick (Cassie) Jebber; daughter, Michelle (Brian) Fiegel; grandchildren, Connor and Jordyn Jebber, Zachary (Meagan) Fiegel and Josh Fiegel; sister, Diane (Barry) Billings; brother, Thomas L. Jebber; and best friend, Jimmy Rodgers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Abraham and Lillian Jebber; and his sister, Rosemary Beaver.
Calling hours will be Friday, March 13, 2026, from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Melkite Church, 927 N. Portage Path, Akron, OH 44303. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron.
Dennis will be remembered for his faith, his kindness, his strength and the love he gave so freely to his family, friends and community. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
