Debra "Debbie" Kear, 73, of Akron, Ohio, met Jesus face to face on July 26, 2025. Born on April 5, 1952, in Mansfield, Ohio, she was the beloved oldest daughter of the late Richard and Edna (Rissler) Arnold.
Debbie married her high school sweetheart, Kenneth "Ken" Kear. Their marriage spanned 55 years-a testament to enduring love and friendship. Together they built a life centered on devotion to God, one another, and their family.
She was a loving mother to Darlene (Tim) Alexander, Kel (Becky) Kear, Denise (Jon) Hallsten, and Christy (Csaba) Varga. Her children, 25 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren were the joy of her life.
Debbie is also survived by her siblings: Rick (Becky) Arnold, Mike (Carolyn) Arnold, Becky (Jack) Sumption, Dan (Tara) Arnold, and Bob (Darlene) Arnold. She held close bonds with her brothers and sister throughout her life.
Debbie devoted her life to faith, family, and service. For decades, she served as the church secretary at Grace Church, Bath Campus. Known for her warm smile and remarkable memory, she greeted each person by name and made countless individuals feel welcomed and loved within the church community.
Her deep love for Jesus guided every aspect of her life. Debbie's faith was not only evident in her work but also in how she lived- teaching Sunday School to four-year-olds with joy and dedication, serving others with humility and grace, and nurturing a home filled with love and acts of service.
In addition to her work at the church and devotion to family life, Debbie loved fishing, boating, playing cards, being outside, coloring, and playing with the grandkids. Even as dementia gradually changed the rhythm of her days, it allowed those she had so faithfully served to return that care with love and gratitude.
You are invited to pay your respects and offer condolences to the family of Debbie Kear during calling hours on Friday, August 1, 2025, from 5-7pm at Grace Church - Bath Campus (754 Ghent Road). A Celebration of Life will be held at 7pm. The family will host a private graveside ceremony on Saturday where Debbie will be laid to rest at Moore's Chapel in Bath, Ohio.
Debbie's legacy is one of unwavering faithfulness- to God, to her husband Ken, to her children and grandchildren - and to every person who walked through the doors of Grace Church. May the love that Debbie showed you inspired you toward love and acts of kindness.
