It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Daniel Bernard Dies, a devoted father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He was called home to the Lord on December 11, 2025.
He is survived by his mother, Marylin Dies, and his siblings, Terry Dies, Mary Mounts, Laura Dies, and Tim Dies. He leaves behind his three children, William (married to Noel), Joshua (married to Ryan), and Molly, who were the pride and joy of his life. He was also a beloved grandfather to William, Oliver, Leila, Michael, Theodore, Joah, and Brady, who brought him endless happiness and purpose.
A hardworking and dedicated man, Dan lived a life marked by loyalty, faith, and love. He cherished time spent outdoors, especially on the water. Whether fishing, boating, or soaking in the peace of lake life, the shoreline was his favorite place to be. A passionate sports fan, he never missed a chance to cheer on the Cleveland Browns or Notre Dame, and he loved catching a good wrestling match or football game. He was a devoted volunteer at the Bill Dies Memorial Wrestling Tournament, held annually at Firestone High School, an event that became an unofficial Dies family reunion and a meaningful tradition close to his heart.
Above all, Dan was steadfast in his faith. He was deeply committed to raising his children in the church and through God, instilling values of strength, kindness, and integrity. To his family, he was a steady presence, supportive, encouraging, and always willing to lend a helping hand.
He will be remembered for his big heart, his humor, his unwavering work ethic, and the love he poured into his family. His legacy lives on in the generations he guided and inspired.
May he rest peacefully in God's eternal care.
