On February 18, 2023, God was asking for someone committed to him and a leader of her community and Dale Panovich answered his call.
Dale Ann Cavnar was born January 1947 in Chicago, Illinois. She grew up in Evergreen Park, Illinois and attended Mother McCauley Catholic Girls High School and went on to attend Chicago Community College. Shortly after she married Robert Panovich in 1968. Dale moved to Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, Nebraska where they started their family while Bob was on active duty in the Air Force.
Dale leaves behind her husband of 55 years Bob, sons Bryan (Charlene) of Copley, OH, Brad (Tammy) of Charlotte NC, and Jason of Louisville OH. She also precedes in death her sister, Kim Cavnar Lewandowski from Phoenix, AZ and Curt Cavnar from Denver, Colorado.
She treasured her six beautiful grandchildren, Connor (Mackenzie), Brennon, Kyler, Kinley, Braden and Addison.
Dale's life was one of service and commitment to her family and community. Dale's volunteer career began with teaching PSR at Guardian Angels Catholic Church for over twenty-five years and was one of the founding adult leaders of Cub Scout Pack 3384. A volunteer with Guardian ad-litem for over ten years and she was also president of Copley-Fairlawn PTSA. Dale held several offices with the Copley-Fairlawn Band Boosters, the Copley Adult All Sports Boosters, Copley Bicentennial Celebration, Copley Heritage Days, Bandstand Committee and much more.
Dale worked for Copley-Fairlawn City Schools for over twenty-five years retiring as the Food Services Director.
Dale was very incredibly passionate about the Copley community and became an elected Copley Trustee, a position she held for twenty-six years. During her time as trustee, she held positions with Summit County Hospital Board, Emergency Management and Jedd board.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 1686 S Cleveland Massillon Rd. Copley. A celebration of life will be from 10 am to 11 am at the church.
