Clifford Bennett

January 18, 1950 — June 16, 2022

Clifford (“Cliff”) James Bennett left this earthly world to join God’s choir on June 16th, 2022 at the age of 72.  Cliff was born in Detroit, MI, and moved to Nashville, TN at 6 months of age where he was raised by his loving parents Hobert & Lucille Bennett.  Cliff graduated from East Nashville High School in 1968 and attended college at The University of Tennessee-Nashville and Middle Tennessee State University.  He worked for 30 years at Vought Aircraft in Nashville as an Inspector.  He was a member of the Edgefield Masonic Lodge in Nashville.  He attended Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Hendersonville, TN, and joined St. Eugene’s Catholic Church in Cuyahoga Falls, OH when he and his loving wife Bettye moved to Cuyahoga Falls in 2014.

Cliff was preceded in death by his parents Hobert & Lucille (nee Roberts) Bennett, dear friend Daniel Webb, and brother-in-law Phil Hardeman.  He is survived by his wife of 42 years (his true love & best friend), Bettye Dianna (nee Hardeman) Bennett; his loving children, Angela Bennett (Mark) Lancaster, Robert (Leah) Parsons, Jason Parsons, Jonathan Bennett (Mireya Boom), and daughter-in-law Colleen Smith; his adoring grandchildren (who knew him as “Poppy”), Caleb, Lydia, Natalie, Simon, Julia, Greta Parsons; Bennett, Brando Lancaster; and Piper Boom; brothers-in-law Bobbie and Ronnie (Loretta) Hardeman; as well as many other relatives and close friends.

Cliff had such a huge loving heart and always made people feel welcomed and loved.  He adored his wife, children, and grandchildren who never left his presence without hearing him say “I love you”.  He was the rock for his family, getting them through hard times, and making them laugh so hard when they needed it the most.  He was a kind, patient, gentle man who didn’t know a stranger and would go out of his way to help anyone in need (unless there was a homemade turkey sandwich involved…he would first wait on that turkey sandwich…hahaha).  Cliff was very musically talented and pleased many a soul throughout the years while singing and playing the piano or the guitar.  He was a true entertainer.  It not only brought him joy when he was immersed in his music, but also brought smiles to those who listened and joined in.   There is no doubt he was immediately placed into heaven’s choir to share his musical gift that God blessed him with.  He is singing, and dancing, and breathing like he has never done before.

Cliff, you will be deeply missed by all who knew you and loved you and will forever hold a place in our hearts.  Until we meet again.
