Claire Shelton

Claire Shelton age 91 widowed of Lunsford L. Shelton passed away January 17 2014 at Sterling House of Barberton OH. Born in Bayonne NJ on August 14 1922. She was the daughter of the late J.L. Thorn and the late Ruth Peterson Thorn. She resided in Wadsworth Ohio for 45 years. In 1977 she and her husband retired and moved to North Myrtle Beach SC. She was a member of Ocean Drive Presbyterian Church and spent 32 wonderful years at the beach. She moved back to Ohio four years ago to be near her family. Claire was a graduate of Wadsworth High School and Wittenberg College in Springfield OH and taught school for several years in Norton OH Survivors include two sons Curtis Shelton of Akron OH James Shelton and wife Donna of Norton OH daughter Nancy Hall and husband Kim of Dorset England and five grandsons. She is also survived by half sister Linda Gilliam of Florida. Cremation has taken place. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
