Christine Lynn Brunenmeister

Christine Lynn Brunenmeister, age 67, of Akron, Ohio, passed away on July 22, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Chris leaves behind her beloved husband John, her brother Robert Forester, and countless friends and family who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Forester and Carole Hartman Forester.

She will forever be remembered for her love of life, her big personality, generous spirit, and kindness. She never missed an opportunity to help others, and was always the first to remember and celebrate a friend's birthday, anniversary, or special moment. She had a love of animals, especially her dogs Fozzie and Daisy. As a member of ASPC (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) and the Summit County Humane Society, Chris has helped many animals, including placing some in their forever homes.

Chris grew up in Akron and attended Kenmore High School. She had a passion for photography which led her to a career with Olan Mills Studios, and later as a wedding photographer. She enjoyed helping families capture cherished memories. She was later employed by Harbor Side Healthcare as an administrative assistant. There she often brought her dog Scooter to work to brighten the mood of residents and caregivers.

Chris found joy cheering for her beloved Cleveland sports teams, and was an avid fan of the Osmonds, especially Donnie and Marie.

Calling Hours will be Tuesday, July 28, from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Hummel Funeral Home - Fairlawn Chapel, 2800 W. Market Street Fairlawn, Ohio 44333. Funeral service will be 11:00am Wednedsday, July 29, at the funeral home, followed by interment at Moore's Chapel.
