Chris Douglas Geer, 59, passed away unexpectedly on July 29, 2026. Born August 27, 1966, Chris lived a full life centered around his family, faith, friendships, hard work, and a genuine desire to help others.

Chris is survived by his best friend and wife of 33 years, Jeanette (Jen) Geer, and their three children, Louis Christopher Geer, Charles (Tate) Ner Geer, and Ella Jane Geer, who were the greatest source of his pride and joy. He is also survived by his parents, Ner and Betsy Geer; his three brothers, Steven (Vicki), Brian (Lisa), and Kevin; his sister-in-law, Cynthy; and numerous nieces and nephews whom he adored. Among his large extended family, he shared especially close bonds with Paula, Mace, Tim, and Steve.

Chris was preceded in death by his infant son, Frashuer Geer, on July 25, 2000.

Those who knew Chris knew him as fiercely loyal, selfless, and always willing to help. He was a problem solver and a doer who showed up for family, friends, and even people he barely knew-often quietly and never expecting anything in return. If someone had a problem, Chris wanted to help solve it-and oftentimes did.

Chris was incredibly smart and endlessly curious. He took great pride in his home, was always tackling the next project, and loved learning and figuring things out. He enjoyed a good debate, forgave quickly, loved to laugh, and was famously incapable of telling a long story short. And through much of it, the family cat, Lonny-Chris's "officemate" and constant companion-was rarely far from his side.

That same curiosity and drive carried throughout Chris's professional life. He began at the 7-Up Bottling Company quickly rising into leadership roles before moving into the polymer industry, where he helped develop five patents which were ultimately sold. He later found his way into advertising, working for Time Warner Cable and Mitchell Media. Always interested in what was next, he embraced new technologies and spent the most recent years of his career creating innovative solutions to help businesses solve problems in new and better ways.

Above all, Chris loved his family fiercely. He was immensely proud of his children, the life he built and found strength and purpose in his faith. He also leaves behind dozens of close friends-a true reflection of the loyalty and love he gave and the lasting relationships he formed throughout his life.

Chris's sudden passing leaves an unimaginable void. He will be remembered for his faith, his loyalty, his humor, his generous heart, and perhaps most of all, for simply being someone people could count on.

A Celebration of Life honoring Chris will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Church, Medina East Campus, 2325 Medina Road, Medina, Ohio 44256. We hope you'll join us as we celebrate a life that was truly well lived.
