Cheryl Plake

Cheryl Lynn Ann Plake, age 59, of Akron (formerly of Norton), was called to be with the Lord on Monday, July 6, 2015 at The Merriman Assisted Living and Nursing Center in Akron. Cheryl lived in the Norton/Barberton area most of her life. It was there she met and married the love of her life, Thomas L. Plake and raised five children with all the love and grace she could give. She managed a local grocery store on the west side of Barberton for many years before purchasing and proudly owning what was always one of her dreams, her very own business. She was loved by all who knew her and was never too busy to stop her work and lend an ear or help a friend or neighbor in need. Her giving heart, warm smile and devotion to the Lord will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Thomas L. Plake; children, Todd L. (Robyn) Plake, Chrissy M. (Raymond) Minard, Carrie A. Plake, Timothy L. Plake and Candice M. (Rusty) Justice; her pride and joy, grandchildren, Austin Plake, Alyssa, Seth and Kyle Justice and Emily Minard; siblings, Val (Kenny) Dills, Dave (Debbie) Deemer and brothers and sisters-in-law, Patricia (Joe) Ulrich, who was always by Cheryl's side, Susan (Jim) Cota, Susan Plake, Bill (Nadine) Plake, Joseph (Arlene) Plake and Michael Duncan; and many beautiful nieces and nephews. Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, James and Margaret Deemer; brother, Jimmy Deemer; brothers-in-law, Michael and Mathew Plake and mother and father-in-law, Lee C. and Clara Plake. A memorial mass will be held in Cheryl's honor at 11:00 a.m. on Friday July 10, at St. Luke's Church, 3810 Ridgewood Rd. Copley, Ohio.
