Charles (Chuck) Witte, 84, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on August 5, 2026, in Stow, Ohio, just one day shy of his 85th birthday.

Born on August 6, 1941, Chuck was preceded in death by his parents Chet and Wilma Witte and his devoted wife Kathleen Anderson Witte. He is lovingly remembered by his brother Robert (Barb) Witte of Omaha, Nebraska and his three children, Matt (Ann) Witte of Fontana, Wisconsin, Catherine (Mike) Beck of Stow, Ohio and Carrie (Dene) Sheheane of Pine Mountain, Georgia. He was also blessed by seven cherished grandchildren, who brought him immeasurable pride and joy -Madeline Witte, Chet Witte, Riley Sheheane, Max Sheheane, Brandon Beck, Grace Beck and Tess Sheheane. He also had many extended family members, dear friends and former colleagues whose lives were enriched by his kindness, wisdom and steady character.

Chuck was born in Omaha, Nebraska. He was a well rounded student and played basketball in High School. He went on to earn his Bachelor's and Master's degrees at the University of Nebraska. After college, Chuck built a distinguished career with Marathon Oil Company where he was respected for his professionalism, leadership, and dedication over 30 years of service. His work provided opportunities to build lasting friendships and make meaningful contributions throughout his career. He was selected for the Presidential Executive Interchange Program where he served under President Gerald Ford in the department of Health, Education and Welfare.

Following his retirement, Chuck and his beloved wife Kathleen made Hilton Head Island, SC, their home. They embraced a life filled with adventure and cherished family moments. Together, they traveled extensively throughout the world, creating memories that reflected their shared curiosity and appreciation for new experiences. Whether enjoying a round of golf, exploring a new destination, or spending time with those he loved most, Chuck approached life with gratitude, humility and enthusiasm. An annual highlight each spring alongside lifelong friends, Chuck especially loved volunteering at the Masters golf tournament in Augusta, Georgia for more than 25 years.

Chuck's legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. The family would like to thank the staff of the Stow Vitalia Memory Care.

A celebration of life will be held in Hilton Head Island at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Chuck to:
