Charles "Chuck" House

September 18, 1937 — June 2, 2024

Charles H. House, age 86, of Tallmadge, Ohio passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 2, 2024 surrounded by his loving wife and family. He was born on September 18, 1937 in Akron, Ohio and never left.

A 1955 graduate of St. Vincent High School, he was a lifelong Booster Club member. He was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 2016 for many years of dedicated service where he built the locker room and press box at John Cistone field. His love for St. Vincent High School was immeasurable.

He enjoyed days gone by of spending numerous times at Munroe Falls swimming and picnicking with his family and friends and also family vacations at Lakeside, Ohio. He was an avid Ohio State and Notre Dame fan and liked tinkering with his 1930 Model A car. What he treasured most was the love of his life, Patsy, his children, and grandchildren.

Chuck's career as an electrician spanned 42 years as a foreman before retiring in 1999. He was a proud member of IBEW Local Union 306 for 65 years in which he recently just received an honorary pin.

He will be remembered as Santa Claus on North Hill, where he brought much merriment to those big and small. In addition, he had the most magical decorated house at Christmas on the North Hill during the 1970s that is still talked about to this day. He and his wife, Patsy, loved entertaining in their Rec Room on Woodward Avenue where everyone would gather around the player piano and sing along. He will also be remembered for his St. Patrick's Day parties when he moved to Tallmadge, Ohio where both he and his wife would entertain upwards of 150 people. Chuck had a very firm handshake, and once you shook his hand, you'd never forget it. He loved to pass out Werther's and fireball candy to all he came in contact with.

Chuck his survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Patsy (Meadows); daughters Debbie Cabral; Cathy (Joel) Yost; sons Bob (Kim) and Terry. He was a proud Papa to Riley and Jaret Yost; Heather (Joel) McMullen and Danny House. He is survived by his brother James House and sister-in-law Carol House, along with countless nieces, nephews, cousins, close neighbors and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Hubert and Margaret House; siblings Molly (Jerry) Walsh, John House and Bill (Betsy) House.

We would like to extend a special thank you to all of our extended family, friends and SummaCare Hospice nurses who helped take care of our Dad.
