VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE Catherine 91 went home to be with our Lord on March 12 2007. Born in Cleveland on August 16 1915 Catherine was a long time resident of Akron graduating from St. Vincent High School. She received her degree from Marygrove College in Detroit. As a long time member of St. Matthew Catholic Church she was a past president of the Sanctuary Guild and served on the board of the Akron Deanery of National Council of Catholic Women. As a resident of Regina Health Center the last four years of her life were filled with joy and contentment. Faith and family were her focus in life. She will always be remembered as a devoted wife mother grandmother and great grandmother. Preceded in death by her husband Frank A. Martin son James (Rita) and siblings Eleanor Harriet and Stuart (Elsie) Henton and Anna Stuart (Harold) McIntire; she is survived by sons Lawrence (Winnie) of Prescott AZ; Frank Jr. (Carolyn) of Woodbridge VA and David of Lakewood a member of the Brothers of Holy Cross; daughter Mary Ann (Bill) Goncy of Boston Heights; sister Gloria (Richard) Gordon of Middletown NJ; 9 grandchildren 7 great-grandsons and many loving family and friends. The family will receive friends at Hummel Funeral Home 500 E. Exchange St. Akron on Thursday March 15 from 4-8 PM and on Friday March 16 from 9:30-10:30 AM at Regina Health Center 5232 Broadview Rd. Richfield followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at Regina. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery 410 North Main Street Hudson OH 44236. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the Catholic Medical Mission Board 10 West 17th St. New York NY 10011-5765.
