Carolyn Hewes

Carolyn Jane Hewes 85 of Akron peacefully passed away November 3 2010 after a short illness. Carolyn was born on July 9 1925 in Sandusky OH and lived the majority of her life in Akron. She was a parishioner at St. Sebastian Catholic Church and also volunteered at St. Thomas Hospital. Carolyn remained an active member of the Delta Gamma Sorority. For many years she was in retail sales in local businesses Carolyn will be remembered by her family and friends as a stylish dignified lady. She was preceded in death by her husband Stephen B. Hewes Jr. and her parents James and Marion Beech. She is survived by her children; Cynthia O'Connor Bayside NY Sally Squeglia Woburn MA Patsy Wilband Shallotte NC Stephen B. Hewes III East Meadow NY James B Hewes Mason OH; her sister Patricia Johnson of Richmond VA 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. A special thanks to her friends and caregivers at the Village of St. Edwards. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday November 5 2010 at 11AM at the Village at St. Edward Chapel 3131 Smith Rd. Fairlawn. Private interment in Rose Hill Burial Park. Prior to the mass friends may call at the Village at St. Edward from 10-11AM . In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Make A Wish Foundation.
