Beverly Louise (Watkins) Smith was born on July 18, 1958 to Charles and Mae Etta Watkins in Akron, Ohio. She grew up with six siblings two brothers and four sisters and attended Lane Elementary, Thornton Junior High, and South High School where she was a cheerleader.
As she grew up, Beverly loved skating, cheering, and became an excellent seamstress. She loved wearing white and was always impeccably put together. She also had a knack for decorating and always kept an immaculate home.
Beverly met the love of her life and prom date, William Smith in 1976. They eventually welcomed their only daughter Brandi and became husband and wife, enjoying 48 exciting years together.
Beverly worked at Aetna Insurance Agency, and also worked many years in the nursing field ending her nursing career at Edwin Shaw Hospital. She later became a tax preparer for H & R Block. Beverly met many people and made life-long friends during her years working.
Beverly accepted Jesus as her savior and was an active member of Saints Temple Ministries, serving in many ways. She served as secretary in the women's ministry and Sunday school and as a Pulpit Aid with great detail to everyone's needs. She cleaned the church and also worked along-side her church family as a community servant feeding the homeless and doing other community projects. She enjoyed reading the Bible and had a special gift of sharing "a word", as she called it, through phone ministry. You never knew when you would get a call from her with something that was laid on her heart.
Everyone who ever met Beverly cannot deny her fiery spirit. She did not hold her tongue and left a lasting impression. You always knew how she felt. Beverly was a very intelligent woman who put her energy into taking care of her husband and daughter and creating a beautiful home for them. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
