Betty Calvert

Beverly (Betty) Yvonne Calvert, 97, passed away Sunday May 4, 2025. Betty was born in Akron, Ohio. She spent most of her married life moving about the United States following her husband, Kent, from Navy Base to Navy Base. They resided in San Diego, California for 32 years before returning to Ohio in 2006.

Betty was preceded in death by her beloved Aunt Jane and Uncle Harry Haines, her parents Leon and Marie Glaze, sister Jeanne L. Buzek-Pepper, brother Glenn 'Pete' Glaze, husband of 61 years M. Kent Calvert, son Joseph Kent Calvert, son Marc Reed Kellams, Goddaughter Amy Allison Kellams and granddaughter Katherine Kellams Reed.

Betty is survived by "The Lights of Her Life", son Michael (Joy) Calvert, daughters Patricia (Scott) Kurtz and Mary (Tom) McIntire, Chris Kellams, seven Grandchildren, nine Great-Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, just smile and do a random act of kindness.

A visitation will be held Wednesday June 4, 2025 from 3-4:30pm at Concordia at Sumner located at 970 Sumner Parkway, Copley, OH 44321. A Mass of Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday June 5, 2025 at 11am at St. Vincent De Paul Church, 164 W. Market St. Akron, OH 44303.

She was very organized, never wanting to trouble friends and family, so she wrote most of this and ended it with:
