Betty Coben

Betty Ann Siel Coben's spirit soared on Friday, January 9th, 2026. Born December 18, 1933 to John and Elizabeth Siel in Akron, Ohio. Betty attended Butchel High School and then went on graduate from Isabelle Firestone School of Nursing at Akron City Hospital. She married her lifemate Robert Coben on July 23, 1955 and they had four children.

Betty was the epitome of a family matriarch, a social butterfly, and the life of the party. She loved nothing more than hosting holidays surrounded by her family, reunions, and group gatherings that were always followed by a card game and a glass of wine. She was also a hobby train collector with Bob, enjoyed boating up on Lake Erie, gardening, and was very into crafting once she retired for the second time.

Betty joins Bob, her parents, sisters Margaret Parker and Maggie Jacobs, sister in law Dorothy Coben, and beloved cat Garth in Heaven. She is survived by her children Kimberly (Rex) White, Craig (Nancy), Eric, and Karl (Sue) Coben. Sister in law Gwen Loucks. Grandchildren Kendel, Eric Jr, Collin, Ethan, Kyle, Brian, and Jennifer.

Please join the family in toasting and remembering Betty at Guardian Angels Church Copley on Saturday January 24th at 10am with a Celebration of life luncheon to follow from 11a-1pm also at the church. Donations can be made to Summa Hospice of Akron, Ohio in her honor.
