Bertha Lowry

VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTEBertha Marie (Bert) Lowry 96 passed away June 12 2009 and leaves behind her legacy of family. She was born on May 24 1913 in Akron OH. and is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years Charles R. (Chick) Lowry and her son Donald R. Lowry. Bertha is survived by her daughters Nancy (Lauren) Gromen of Cherry Hill NJ and Deb (Paul) Hartman of White Lake MI; daughter-in-law Donna (Donald) Lowry of Brockport NY; and brother Ed Munz. Bertha had 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren who she loved dearly. Her niece Pat Lowry and life-long friends Laura and David Robinson gave her special solace in her later years. Bertha's family and friends were her greatest joy and source of pride. Bertha was a life-long resident of Akron and Copley and an extraordinary crafter. She volunteered her time and wares to many organizations including the Copley Historical Society and Stan Hywet Hall. She taught Senior crafting at Pat Catan's and at Michael's. Visitation will be at Hummel Funeral Home COPLEY 3475 Copley Road on Friday June 19 2009 from 6PM to 9PM. Funeral Services to be held at Hummel Funeral Home COPLEY on Saturday June 20 2009 at 12 Noon. Rev. Becki Verbridge officiating. Interment to follow at Copley Twp. Cemetery.
