Bernard Walter Cretin November 15, 1926 - July 6, 2014 Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away peacefully on July 6, 2014, at Akron General Hospital Hospice. Bernard was born in Cambria County, PA to Leo and Anna Horne Cretin. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Philippines and Occupied Japan and retired from B.F. Goodrich Company with 44 years of service where he served as a Rubber Workers Union representative. He was a member of the American Legion Post 473 and Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Copley. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Anna and his children, Diana Clance (James) of Akron and Duane (Julie) of Carmel, IN. He is also survived by granddaughters Selena (Michael) Myers of Cuyahoga Falls and Katherine and Sarah Cretin; also his great-granddaughter Ava Myers. He is survived by his brother Isadore of Ebensburgh, PA. He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers. The family thanks the caring staff at Akron General Hospital Hospice, the 4th floor nursing staff at Akron General Hospital, and the staff at Orchards of Ridgewood. The family will receive friends Thursday 10 am to 1 pm with funeral service at 1:00 pm at the Hummel Funeral Home, 3475 Copley Rd., Copley. Interment Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
