Barbara B. Koosed, age 93, died peacefully on December 9, 2020. Born March 13, 1927 in Denver, Pennsylvania, she lived in the Akron area since 1952. A graduate of Heidelberg University, she earned a Master’s Degree in Speech and Hearing from the University of Akron. She worked as a writer and editor for several employers over many years. In 1970, she was the campaign manager for then U.S. Congressman John F. Seiberling. Later, she produced a live TV show, “Akron A.M.” for Warner Cable in Akron. She served on many community boards, including The League of Women Voters, Akron Symphony Orchestra, Ohio Ballet, Arthritis Foundation, and the Volunteer Center. She was preceded in death by husband Dr. Edward L. Koosed, parents Ray and Rebecca Bender, brothers James, Richard and Donald Bender, and son Jonathan Koosed. She is survived by sister Joanne Regenhardt, son Todd Hunter, daughter Judi Snyder (Wallace), stepchildren Joel Koosed, Diane Koosed (Scott Lake) and Marla Koosed (Billy Childers), seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. There will be no calling hours or services. The family suggests a donation to the charity of your choice if desired.
