Barbara Castner

Barbara Mary Castner (nee Rielly), age 82, passed away on November 12, 2025. She was born on August 31, 1943 in Akron to the late Jack and Alice Rielly.

She was a 1961 graduate of Central High School and spent 25 years service at Acme as a cashier. Barb was a lover of animals and enjoyed having dinner with the "Birthday Gang". She was a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary 3383.

Preceded in death by her brother, Danny Rielly; she is survived by her husband of 44 happy years, Paul; children, Chris (KJ) and Chuck (Sam) Reiber, Paul (Eva) Castner, Shannon Marks, Mike (Pam) Castner; bunches of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Calling hours will be 4-7pm Monday, November 17, at the Hummel Funeral Home, 3475 Copley Rd. Copley and one hour prior to mass at the church. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00am Tuesday, November 18, at St. Vincent Catholic Church, 164 W. Market St. Akron. Private interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to One of A Kind Pet Rescue.
