Rev. B. Thomas Zeisig passed away Dec. 30 2007 in Akron Ohio from complications related to Thrombosis. B. Thomas Zeisig son of the late Bernard Zeisig and Margaret Zeisig was born Feb. 3 1931 in Akron. Father Zeisig was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Robert and Richard. He is survived by his sister Mary Margaret Doran of Fountain Valley California. He is also survived by eight neices and nephews close cousins Maggie and John Costello and best friend and caretaker Sister Beverly Bodnor. He was educated at St. Martha's Elementary School and attended secondary school at St. Mary's of Akron. He entered the Seminary and was ordained a Priest on May 18 1957. Father Zeisig was particularly fond of children and spent many of his lunch breaks eating with the children of St. Francis DeSalles Primary School. He was assigned to Associate Pastor after ordination at St. Edward in Ashland Ohio and moved to St. Michael's in Cleveland in1961. In 1964 he was assigned to St. Raphael Parrish in Bay Village and was reassigned Chaplain at St. Thomas Hospital in Akron in 1969. In 1971 he was assigned to St. Joseph's Parish Cuyahoga Falls in 1978 and became Pastor at St. Eugene's Cuyahoga Falls where he stayed until his retirement in 2001. Upon retirement he resided at St. Francis DeSalles Parrish in Portage Lakes. The wake for B. Thomas Zeisig will be held at Saint Eugene Church 1821 Munroe Fall Blvd. Cuyahoga Falls 44221 Friday January 4 from 3-8 p.m. beginning with the singing of Vespers at 3:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Eugene's on Saturday Jan. 5 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Saint Eugene Catholic Church. In life Father Thomas Zeisig was loved by his parishioners and all of his family members.
