VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTEArthur W. Jackson (85) of Fairlawn passed away on August 5 2009 at Hospice at Ridgewood. He grew up in Clifton NJ where he graduated from high school with gold medals in math and science. Art was preceded in death by his wife Marie T. (Hatch); and his parents Arthur and Mildred Jackson. Art is survived by his loving wife of 35 years Barbara M. (Pettit-Ray) Jackson; sister Mildred (William) Kneer of Medfield MA; daughter Ariel 'Bobbi' (Phil Temples) Cohen of Cambridge MA; children George (Christina) Ray Linda Harrison Sherrie Ray Wayne Ray Steven Ray of Akron Daniel (Katherine) Ray of Whitefish MT; grandchildren Jerry Barbara Brandon Louis Kelsea Alexander and Kaylee; great-grandchildren Jonathan and Marilyn. He graduated from Steven's Institute of Technology and continued his education at Princeton University and the US Naval Academy at Annapolis. Art proudly served his country during WWII in the US Navy. He retired from Babcock Wilcox as Vice President of International Sales after 38 years of employment. Art was a self-taught wood carver and enjoyed bridge and chess. Art loved his family and treasured their summer vacations at Cape Hatteras for many years. He was an avid fisherman and world traveler. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at Hummel Funeral Home COPLEY 3475 Copley Rd. where friends may call 1 hour prior. Interment in All Saints Cemetery in Northfield.
