Alice Bocko

July 12, 1925 — March 28, 2023

Alice Ardine (Beals) Falb Bocko of Copley, Ohio passed away on March 28, 2023.

Born in 1925 and raised on her family's dairy farm in Mt. Eaton, Ohio, Alice was always very proud to tell people that she was a "farm girl" who grew up learning the importance of and an appreciation for a strong work ethic. After graduating from Mt. Eaton High School, she was employed by the Kidron Auction where she met Edward Falb. They married and moved to Copley, where she worked for the next 25 years as a clerk at the Copley Post Office. Alice then proudly served as the Postmaster at the Sharon Center Post Office for 15 years until her retirement. She truly enjoyed her job, especially the relationships she built with members of the community. Alice was a member of the Copley Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary Post #473.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Edward Falb, and her second husband, Daniel Bocko; mother and father, Mollie and Warren Beals; brothers, Leslie, Clair, and Russell; her sisters, Grace and Joyce, and her special sister-in-law, Dorothy Beals, whom she spoke with on the phone every night for many years.

She is survived by her daughter, Vicki (Lance) Wilkinson; granddaughters, Mindy Wilkinson, and Deanne (Derek) Deneke; sister-in-law, Joanne Falb, and many nieces and nephews. Alice is also survived by special friends Liz Robinson, Jim Kramer, and an extended family of caregivers (most recently Joanne, Kim, and Linda). Along with her family's efforts, their help enabled her to stay in her home, where she enjoyed watching and feeding the birds, caring for her flowers, seeing the seasons change, and finding peace in simple things when her mobility issues and inability to hear hindered her from attending activities outside her home. Alice Rice, who has been her caregiver and friend for the past four years, brought joy to her life in so many ways: cooking special foods for her, taking her to appointments and for scenic drives, decorating her home for holidays, and boosting her spirits.

Alice's family is very appreciative of the care she received from Jen and the hospice team at Southern Care and The Danbury in Tallmadge.

Per her request, there will be no calling hours or service. Cremation has already taken place. Memorials may be sent to Copley Methodist Church or the Copley Rescue Squad.
