Nancy Lee Costill, 70, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2022 with her dog Lacey by her side. Nancy was born on April 21, 1952 to Robert and Mildred Costill. She graduated from Buchtel High School and earned a degree in education from the University of Akron. Nancy taught school for several years and then took a job with the U.S. Postal Service where she worked until retirement.
Nancy enjoyed traveling, which she did extensively with her grandparents and Aunt Marge, from an early age. She was very athletic and played softball, golf and bowled. Nancy was a huge sports fan watching not only the Browns, Cavaliers and Guardians, but also college sports and the Little League World Series. She also had a creative side and enjoyed painting and cross stitch. Nancy played all kinds of games on her iPad and liked the challenge of brain puzzles. But most of all, Nancy loved all animals, especially her miniature dachshund Lacey, her cat Kiki and her birds that visited the feeder outside her bedroom window.
Preceded in death by her parents Robert and Mildred (Stiller) Costill, Nancy is survived by her brother Dan and his wife Sandy.
The family would like to thank Heather and her staff who were more than Nancy's caregivers- they became her friends. They treated Nancy with kindness and respect and their compassionate care enabled Nancy to return home to be with Lacey.
There will be no calling hours. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 44 University Ave. Akron, Ohio 44308 on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at 10:00am.
